Why don't we have a separate tier for the books for the MMO?

Our vision for The Wagadu Chronicles is to create a hybrid experience that combines table top role playing and a massive-multiplayer online game.

Whilst we wouldn’t rule out the possibility of releasing standalone TTRPG or MMO content in the future, our current focus is building a community of Pen&Paper and online-gamers that are open to share common experiences in a way that hasn’t been done before.

We’re excited (and also very grateful) to see people so interested in specific parts of our project. We are doing our best behind the scenes to incorporate your suggestions whilst staying true to the Wagadu Chronicles vision.

Will there be voice chat in the game?

Probably not.

We want to make The Wagadu Chronicles a welcoming and safe space for all players.

Since we are a small indie development team we do not have the resources to adequately moderate an in-game voice chat.

But if you want to use voice chat together with your friends there are great third party products available (e.g. Teamspeak/Skype).

Is the ownership of the digital version of the MMO time-limited?

No. Once you own The Wagadu Chronicles you’ll be able to access this online world in perpetuity.

I'm new to role-playing, will there be support for me?

Yes! We are excited to welcome people that are new to roleplaying as well as the veterans, so to say. We’ll have a lot of support for people that are new to roleplaying, including:

  • Lore documents for background and character building

  • Documents and Videos that show examples of in-game roleplay

  • In-game lobbies as well as our lovely discord server for the community to be able to support each other

  • A Blog Post series

The great thing about our MMO is that we anticipate this being an entry point for a lot of people into this sort of experience! We will have in-game mechanics that support you and your character as you navigate your way through Wagadu. So far we already have an amazingly open and friendly community (Discord: https://discord.gg/3dj5zTe) so we have no doubt that someone will be more than happy to help newbies along the way!

Will there be Player vs Player (PvP) combat?

The Wagadu Chronicles(TWC) is focused on Player vs Environment (PvE) gameplay. One of the main reasons for this is that we want TWC to be an open and friendly environment for everyone, even people that have never played an online MMO. Preventing grieving in a Player vs Player (PvP) environment is extremely difficult, players will always find a way, and we as a small indie team do not have the resources to moderate this. This does not mean that PvP will never be a part of TWC, e.g. we discussed more controlled ways of PvP combat in a type of arena setting, but it is not our focus right now.

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
